Theme and Preferences

Switch between light, dark, and system themes.

Glyph supports three theme modes:

  • Light - bright background, dark text
  • Dark - dark background, light text
  • System - follows your OS setting (default)

Switching themes

Click your avatar in the top right and select a theme from the menu. The change is applied immediately and persisted across browser sessions.

The theme is also applied before the page paints - there is no "flash of light theme" when loading a page in dark mode.

Where themes apply

Both the application UI and the code syntax highlighting adapt to the active theme. In light mode, code uses the github-light Shiki theme; in dark mode, github-dark.

The documentation editor also follows the theme - code blocks, blockquotes, and headings all use the active palette.

Language

Glyph's UI is currently English only. Future versions may add localization, but for now there is no language picker.

If you want to contribute a translation, see the project repository - UI strings are centralized and contributions are welcome.

Per-user preferences (current state)

The following preferences are stored per-user in localStorage (frontend) or the database (backend):

PreferenceStorageNotes
ThemelocalStorageSynced via next-themes
Doc panel widthlocalStoragePer-user, per-browser
Last selected workspaceURLNo explicit preference, lives in the route

There is no profile / preferences page beyond the theme toggle and account settings.
